Calling all emergency planners! 

The Crisis Response Journal has highlighted the crucial role of emergency planners several times over the last few weeks – their foresight and expertise are invaluable at times like these and we must remember to include them in our thanks, along with the other key workers.

It is vital that our future emergency planners are trained to the highest level by inspirational educators. With this in mind, we are pleased to be able to share the news of a job opportunity for a Senior Lecturer in Emergency Planning at Wolverhampton University in the UK, one of CRJ’s Key Network Partners.

The growing department of the Emergency Management and Resilience Centre, under the expert co-ordination of valued CRJ Advisory Panel member, Stewart Mashiter, hopes that the successful applicant can contribute to the diversification of the postgraduate programmes and play a part in events delivery and management. In addition, there will be the opportunity to identify and support new activities and programmes in the development of the emergency management field towards professionalisation. 

 

These exciting opportunities will run alongside delivery of the curriculum, income generation from training course provision and the chance to contribute to the University’s academic journal.

Applicants will ideally have practice background in emergency planning and/or disaster management and teaching experience in a Higher Education Institution. More details can be found in the full job specification, but it is hoped that candidates will show a commitment to innovative teaching and research activities in order to build the portfolio and profile of the faculty.
