CRJ, ES and IDME team up to deliver a series of free webinars and podcasts
It is our sincere pleasure to announce that Emergency Show (ES) and International Disaster Management Exhibition (IDME), part of World Humanitarian Forum’s co-located portfolio are partnering with the Crisis Response Journal to produce a series of webinars and podcasts. Click here to register for free for the first one on July 29.
The Covid-19 pandemic has been a major focus of the emergency management and response community and the response has required widespread collaboration from multiple departments, ranging from the medical field to fire and rescue services, and others.
How can we develop an even greater cross-sector, multidisciplinary dialogue in order to share knowledge and experience between all disciplines involved, before, during or after a crisis or disaster? Our first joint webinar aims to address this issue. It will feature Jacqui Semple, Chair of the Emergency Planning Society, Louise Davidson, PHD student at the University of Sussex and David Wales, Founder of Shared Aim Ltd. Editor in Chief Emily Hough will be moderating.
Topics to be explored include planning for the short, medium and long term; multi-agency co-operation and the UK’s current systems; recovery planning; vertical and horizontal communication between agencies, central government, the public, business and media; how the public experiences services during a crisis; fatigue and well-being; and an analysis of multi-agency preparedness in terms of simultaneous, cascading crises.
“We are delighted to be working with the ES and IDME to develop understanding between disciplines and agencies on a local and global basis,” says Emily Hough. “This initiative underpins the commitment of both partners to achieve a more secure and equitable planet for all. Now is the time for an honest and frank conversation about what has worked well, and the areas that we all need to develop further.”
