Dr Albrecht Beck

Dr. Albrecht Beck has long standing experience in leading positions in international disaster management. He is a United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) Team member and has held the position as Global Mass Evacuation Coordinator at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) until recently. Prior to this post, he was active as a Disaster Preparedness Expert for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA). Albrecht is an expert in the field of Mass Evacuations, Community Preparedness and Disaster Risk Management in general. In addition, he focuses on disaster risk diplomacy where he has gathered extensive knowledge and experience, for instance as the founder and project manager of the Jordan-Israel-Palestine Preparedness Project. He is holds a professorship at the University of Murcia, Spain, and is a guest lecturer at the United Nations University.
