Counter-drone strategies
A new book on drone technologies, co-authored by CRJ’s Advisory Panel member Andrew Staniforth and Garik Markarian, has been published.

We are pleased to share the recent release of Andrew’s book, Countermeasures for Aerial Drones, published by Artech House. Andrew is a valued member of the CRJ’s Advisory Panel and has written several articles for the Crisis Response Journal (CRJ 15:2, 3 and 4). He and his co-author, Garik Markarian, share extensive research, industry and investigative expertise in the sphere of drone technology at international level.
The book is a comprehensive resource that aims to explain the development and handling of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drone threats, with additional focus on the practical aspects of counter-UAV systems and technologies.
The authors combine theory, technical and operational practice with insights from industry and policing to explore the fast-evolving rogue drone threat landscape.
The book provides insight into counter-drone strategy, developing effective counter-drone strategies and measures, as well as counter-drone programmes and the regulatory frameworks governing the use of drones. It includes analysis of future drone and counter-drone challenges and highlights ongoing research and innovation activities, along with an examination of future drone technologies.
