Dr Haseeb Md Irfanullah
Haseeb is an independent consultant on environment, climate change and research systems, from Bangladesh.
Haseeb is a biologist-turned-development facilitator, who often introduces himself as a research enthusiast. Over the last two decades, he has developed an interest in and understanding of environmental governance, climate change adaptation, disaster risk management, technological innovation, poverty alleviation, scholarly communications and research impact – all focusing on the well-being of human and nature.
Over the years, Haseeb has worked for different international development organisations, academic institutions, donors and the Government of Bangladesh in different capacities. Currently an independent consultant, he is also a visiting research fellow of the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) in Dhaka.
Haseeb is passionate about creating, capturing and communicating knowledge; testing and promoting new ideas; and facilitating collaboration and network. He and his co-workers have authored around 40 journal articles; written, edited, and contributed to more than 45 books and other publications; and written more than 130 articles and thought pieces on a wide range of topics. He is also engaged with several global mentoring programmes involving young researchers and professionals. Haseeb has a PhD in aquatic ecology from the University of Liverpool, UK.
